We’re on a mission to replace all polluting trucks and buses in Los Angeles County with healthier and safer zero-emissions vehicles. We support thoughtful policies that accelerate fleet electrification while creating equitable economic growth and quality local jobs.
Our Work
We advocate for clean vehicles of all shapes and sizes. From school buses to refuse trucks, there are zero-emissions vehicles ready and waiting to meet our transportation needs.
Our coalition’s work led to commitments from LA Metro, LADOT and Santa Monica Big Blue Bus to fully transition to their buses to zero-emissions by 2030. We secured commitments from LA City Sanitation to transition to 100% electric refuse trucks. We helped LAUSD secure an initial electric school bus grant for 10 buses. We’re working now to build momentum around a fully electric transportation future for all trucks and buses.
Our Fight
The burden of Los Angeles’ air pollution falls heavily on children: their developing lungs are especially vulnerable, with long-term health and economic impacts. Children who ride combustion-fueled school buses are exposed to unhealthy emissions at the street-level and inside their buses. In contrast, electric school buses eliminate these emissions where our kids learn, play and live.
Electric school buses offer holistic solutions to tackle long-term health, environmental, and economic inequities, while putting our region on a pathway to a more stable climate future. Nationwide, schools are rolling out electric buses. It’s time for LAUSD to join the movement and commit to 100% zero by 2035!
